Salma Top

This top began as a Mauritanian melhfa, dyed entirely by hand using local tie and ligature techniques. Each piece is knotted, dipped, dried and revealed over hours of work, so no two ever come out the same.

Reworked in Awa’s atelier in Nouakchott, the melhfa is reshaped into a cropped, long-sleeved top, secured with hand sewn Ghanaian beads.
