Awa Dress

This dress began as a Mauritanian melhfa, dyed entirely by hand using local tie and ligature techniques. Each piece is knotted, dipped, dried and revealed over hours of work, creating subtle variations in colour and pattern. No two are ever exactly alike.

Reworked in Awa's atelier in Nouakchott, the melhfa is transformed into a long, flowing dress with long sleeves and contrasting hand-dyed panels. 

The dress has a loose, flowing silhouette that can be worn freely or cinched at the waist with a belt, allowing you to adjust the shape to your preference. One size fits approximately S to M,
